Only 2 cookies...




Funny story: so as you’ve learned Evelyn has hearing aids...well she’s definitely getting smart with them if you know what I mean…..She doesn’t love wearing them all the time at home so she takes breaks after school and takes them out.  The other day she was getting the oreos out to have a snack.  I said, “You can only have 2!” and then left the room.  Just a bit later I walked back through and saw her sitting at the counter with 4 oreos….I looked over at her with “the look” and said nothing.  She looked at me and replied, “What?!? I didn’t hear you say to only have 2”..... Little smarty pants ;)

The WORST day...

Here’s a little story about my oldest daughter, and one of the WORST days of my life….. When she was about 2 and ½ I started having concerns with her hearing.  It seemed the TV was always too loud and I had to say her name a LOT before she heard me….but then again, why would I be too concerned….there is this thing called “selective hearing” and she was just a kid. Who wants to listen to their mom at that age?!?.....Well, at her 3 yr. dr. apt. she didn't quite understand the hearing test, so they said we could just try again at 4 yrs, but just over a month later I realized how bad it had gotten...so I took her into an audiologist..what they found was not good, but VERY rare, so our audiologist thought maybe she did something wrong and so she wanted a second test/opinion….Whatever was happening it seemed urgent….usually you have to make appointments for this kind of stuff and wait weeks to come back in, but she left the room and got another audiologist from the cl

Stephisms...

I am very smart person.  Like not bragging, but I went through college with a 3.98, I’d say that’s pretty good for how much partying I did….Anyway, my point is I am BOOK smart...Like I know a lot about math and science and can figure things out easily…..However, I am NOT common sense smart.  In fact I’ve said some pretty dumb things throughout life….in fact I do it so oftenly that my family and friends have come to call them STEPHISMS.  Here are some examples: →One day I was looking through one of my husband’s hunting magazines (out of peer boredom) and I saw an ad for a spray that made the deer see you in black and white so that you didn’t stand out and you’d blend into your background when hunting.  (Now mind you, you are SUPPOSED to spray this on your clothing before going out hunting).  I look at the ad inquisitively and say, “So how do you get close enough to spray that in the deer’s eyes?” →We’re in Milwaukee driving to visit some friends.  Milwaukee is a ma

The Beginning of my Fitness Journey...

So in July of 2017 I decided to become a BeachBody Coach, I’m not here to sell anything, just thought I’d start with this to share my fitness journey :) …. I was always kind of the skinny girl…..but let’s just say that since having two kids, picking up some not so healthy habits (like eating a lot and drinking with my buddies, NEVER working out, and simply just being in my 30’s and for some reason only getting older)….it’s taken a toll on me….I was never happy with the way I looked anymore and my shirts were beginning to get tight on my gut…so much so that in the past school year I had three different students ask about the baby in my belly. So I decided to finally do something about it.
